Wakefield Diocese has been linked with the Diocese of Mara in Tanzania since 1988. In 2005 All Saints' South Kirkby was fortunate enough to gain its own link with parish Bitaraguru in Mara.

| Bitaraguru is located in the southern part of the Mara region very near to Bunda town. It is situated alongside the main tarmac road stretching from Mwanza city to Musoma. The main activities in Bitaraguru are growing crops and rearing livestock. |
| There are two natural wells but demand for water is rising and the villagers are struggling to dig two more wells. A homestead has an average of 10 family members including the extended family. There are two Government Primary Schools where children attend until the age of 14. Secondary education is a 4 year course but places are limited and the cost is beyond the reach of many of the parishioners of Bitaraguru.

| In our link parish you will not see tap water, electricity, televisions, telephones, banks, post office or supermarkets. |
| The villagers worship in a school room because they do not have a church. They have managed to build their pastor's house and their next task is to start making bricks to build their own church. I wonder what they would think of our beautiful Medieval church here in South Kirkby ? |
We now have a monthly intercession sheet for our link parish and we pray that they will complete their church and spread the Gospel beyond their parish.
